Map old URLs to new URLs one-to-one (closest equivalent page, not the homepage).
Set up server-side 301 redirects and check the map for chains and loops.
Update internal links, canonical tags and hreflang to the new URLs.
Remove staging blocks (noindex, robots.txt Disallow, password) from the new site at launch.

Planning a Site Migration

Site migrations are high-risk. The interactive checklist walks through the main SEO steps (URL mapping, redirects, internal links, sitemaps, Search Console) so nothing is missed during a domain or platform change. It reduces risk; no checklist can guarantee rankings hold.

After Launch

Expect some ranking movement for a few weeks while Google recrawls. Monitor 404s, crawl errors and index coverage in Search Console, and fix redirect gaps as they appear.
